xbox pricing this weekend
« on: November 26, 2011, 01:42:30 PM »
One of the huge discounts offered this weekend was $100 off of xbox + kinect bundles.  $199 for the $299 4GB system, $299 for the $399 250GB system.  The stores had only a handful of these, right next to a huge stack of identical full-price ones, so it was obviously a black friday marketing trick.  Well...

Microsoft has the same discount pricing online.  Stupid retailers, thanks microsoft!  Some people waited in line nearly a day to save $100 on these consoles, yet MS is still selling them for $100 off on Saturday, with no end date listed for the discount pricing.

So...  If you're looking at an xbox console to buy, check out microsoft's site before you waste any time standing around in line.  It's around 33% off for the 4GB console, a fairly decent discount if you're going to buy one of these anyhow.  That'll pay for 2 first-tier or 3-4 second-tier kinect games.  I doubt we'll see any deeper discount for these things anytime this or next year.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

I agree with eagl  :salute  on this one i think the games are overpriced but the system for 200 hundred bucks is a good deal.

Nowadays i just wait a couple weeks and buy the game used for half the price.

I had 2 PS3 failures and then switched to Xbox. I try to keep my mouth shut on subjects I know nothing about. Maybe you should do the same.

I have a question.  What is the purpose of having the 250GB version?  What is the purpose of the extra hard drive space?

Save games and installing games to your harddrive. Its easier on the system and on some games (like battlefield 3) the graphics are substantially better when you install it to your HD
