2012 FSO Scedule
« on: December 05, 2011, 08:58:32 AM »
2011 saw the changing of the 3 weeks on and 1 week off to one FSO per month due to loss of a few CM's and training of new CM's.  Will the 2012 schedule reflect the traditional 3 weeks on and 1 week off again?  Aside from the occasional holiday that gets thrown in once in awhile.

I think the schedule was changed to make it more predictable and "logical". FSO (barring holidays, etc.) has been easier to figure out since it's always the first three weeks of each calendar month.  Having the FSO "month" spanning two calendar months was very confusing to many, and many were always saying "is this frame 1 or 2?".  I think it would have also led to issues where orders didn't come out until last minute because "I'm CiC for frame 1...is that next week or this week?".

So in my opinion, it should remain the first three weeks of the calendar month even if it means two off weeks in a row sometimes.

The 2 off weeks in a row are a real bummer IMO.

Not sure im following you. FSO has always had 2 weeks between setups. At least as far as I recall.

2012 will run the same as 2011. We have to have the 2 weeks off guys as we are putting on 12 events and 36 frames per year. Major holidays will be avoided which are right now Christmas and US Thanksgiving. The rest where we can without messing up the rotation.

We will run one setup per month each of 3 frames. As per usual.

I want to post sometheing tentative for 2012 but I am waiting on some staffing issues to clear up first.

Just for 2011 with the one FSO per month.  Prior, it was 3 weeks on and 1 week off except for holiday interruptions.

Your first response answers your second response.

Many times the 3 weeks on and 1 week off meant Frame 1 was in last week of the month and Frames 2 and 3 were in first weeks of the following month.  Plus other unique combinations.

If one FSO per month makes it easier on logistical planning, then that's OK with me.  Just asking what was in store for the new year.

Righto ok I see what you are getting at. Ya I think that "one contained in the month" just works best for logistical and scheduling purposes.  :salute
