Horde of fighters, or horde of bombers, Fugi?

I for one would love to be in a 60 or 80 player buff raid; there's nothing like 200 B-17s flying (more or less) in formation, with tracers everywhere and 109s and T-Bolts slugging it out at 20k :x :D :)

What you all have to realize is; Fugi believes this is real life.

"Is this real life?!?! MY EYES ARE PUZZLE PIECES!"
Like, ya know, when that thing that makes you move, it has pistons and things, When your thingamajigy is providing power, you do not hear other peoples thingamajig when they are providing power.

The problem is with the way players play this game now you will NEVER see it. You might see a horde of buffs together, and maybe an escort, but the most you will see is a few 262 blasting through trying to rack up as many kills as they can before they die.

What you all have to realize is; Fugi believes this is real life.

If I was thinking this was real life I'd be flying as much if not more than Midway!

You guys just don't get it, you think your having fun, but you haven't even scratched the surface of what is available. Your all so content to run around rolling base after base.

It's kinda like the stuff they call "music" these days. Everyone "thinks" it's great, but in 10 years nobody will remember any of the players while those of us who know better will still be listening to and watching the next generation bring back all those great bands like Floyd, Zepplin, the Stones, Clapton, Hendrix.    :D

For one I don't go around rolling bases. I have joined horde missions and rolled bases and it was/is fun. It is a different play style.

I am rarely out of a fighter but I don't look down my nose at people who choose to roll bases with a bunch of friends if they are having fun.

The easy most common response from you and other "vets" is it kills the fun of others. This is a myth. You can up from whatever field you want and fly against whoever you want. It is not a secret where they are.

I have seen big b-17 missions and flown against them in 190s and fought their p47/p51s many times before so I know it happens.

No, Leroy Jenkins went diving in all by himself knowing it was going to be suicidal and maybe hoping to drag his unwitting comrads along.  You guys did just the opposite so please don't try to compare yourselves to a modern day folk legend.

How so?  You may think the reasoning behind your statement is obvious, but it is not.

To me that many Lancasters looks like an all you can eat buffet.
Ok let me explain. You have 30 lancs in that mission x 3 = 90 lancs=840,000 lbs ord. It's no wonder bases get rolled like they do. IMO bases should be harder to take or at least not be flattened in one pass. I think limiting or charging perk points for formations and disable them in missions would cut down on some these arguments about the game. 30 lancs with 1000 pounders is way plenty for a base. Ya don't need 90.

You wouldn't like a formation of Pee51s would you? Formations are too gamey IMO. You want a formation, then get 2 buddys to fly at ur 5 oclock, is what i say.  :P

And yes those buffs do look like a buffet. I'd of been grinning from ear to ear if I stumbled into that.  :D But i still think in the long run the game would be healthier without free formations.  :salute

hey bud, the reference to Leroy was the fact that we upped 15 goons on a suicide run flying to a completely 100% active base to drop troops at 11K feet and lawndart into the runway :aok

The leroy raids were not the P40 raids that happened. they were stukas and D3As torping and cookieing panzers and whirbles, a 30 strong brewster raid (that surprisingly did well in the kill count :headscratch: ), and as said above the goon drop :neener:

While - for the game as a whole - there is always the danger of 'too much' of anything, I'm personally very fond of enemy hordes. When I'm in fighter mood (most of the time), I very much prefer the sector with nothing but red dar way above those with just a tad of both green and red bars.

And there are few of us that can proudly state to never have been part of a horde, either by intention or by accident. ;)
