Or people trying to track his stats?  :noid

ack-ack

why would anyone care about stats? Quite frankly, scores and stats don't show anything. They can easily be manipulated.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

You must live a very sad and poor life without having a sense of humor.  I was playing off caldera's comment of the guy spelling his name that way so people won't bother send him PMs, not being literal about someone tracking his stats which is why I put in that little paranoid emote.

You're dismissed.

From the pilot statistics page:

From the pilot score page:

From the plane statistics page - checked out the P-38J section and there he is:

People do have multiple accounts in the game.  The 12 hour side switching delay may have lessened this implied practice in Late War, but what to do if a guy has 3 separate accounts?  The stat pages can be useful.  But this thread?  This guy is most likely cool, but not very sporting.

Yeah, score doesn't matter unless you are one of the guys that just out of coincidence keep their scores in the single digits and usually frequent the honor roll every month on the Aces High title page.

.... or it could be something much more sinister!
Maybe, just maybe he thought the name "Maverick" (from the movie top gun) was a cool name to go by in a flight sim type game (see the connection, movie about a fighter pilot and this game you play AS a fighter pilot) but the name was TAKEN! So being "creative" figured out a way to spell it so it looked the same, but wasn't.

How dare he !!

"AH-HAH!"

I originally checked his score to see if he got any discos.
When it didn't show up, I feared that it was proof of a commie conspiracy to sap and impurify all our precious bodily fluids.  :noid

Something very strange is going on here...

Upped a 163 to intercept HQ attack and con turns out to be a P-38J.    So it's a griefer of another sort - someone out to waste your time.  I decide to chase him anyway and at 700 yards, he vanishes.  No kill, no nothing.

After reviewing the film, it can be clearly seen that this plane is changing altitude; climbing up until I start closing and then descending.  And then the expertly timed magic "poof".  Convenient.

My questions start with why wasn't I awarded a kill?  Secondly, there is no info available for this player on the score or stat pages.  How can that be if he took at least one sortie?  A Scooby Snack for whomever can solve this mystery.

Here is the uncut film:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?c9pwkfqscuui9x2

FF to about 10:45 to cut to the chase.

First off, your SA is poor, looking at clipboard map, not realizing you have a fighter and not a bomber, unless the Dar ring is down or he was not in the Dar ring.  Whether you want to chase him is your decision.

Secondly, the P-38's SA is also poor, as you got pretty close to him and he not realizing you were there until the last moment.  All he had was rockets and guns; was he returning from an HQ attack as to no bombs carried.  I suspect he was up high, going home.  He saw you coming and said, "Adios, see ya', vaya con dios!"

I am surprised the short range of a P-38 he got that far back.  Must have been a close by allied airbase, since in-air refuelling is not an option.

More than likely he pulled the plug.  Can this guy have much in-game experience attacking a HQ with a P-38?

My sense of it.

(I was doing a search, and saw this thread, is how I came upon it.)

Of course, one would NEVER carry a drop tank or two for such a long flight.

With bombs (plural) ?

L model, full tank, no drop tanks is 35 minutes, full throttle, not wep.

L model can carry 1DT and 1 1,000# bomb.

That is true.

But why attack HQ with a P38?

Just something to do, I guess.
