Rewarding skillful players who can land a plane.
« on: January 01, 2012, 10:02:24 AM »
I've been seeing wishes for rearm pads at ports/V-bases or certain planes enabled and I think some additions to playability can be rewarded/granted to players without negatively affecting the arenas.

Add a plane spawn (with rearm pad) for the CV that sits at the ports.

The difficulty of taking off from a non-moving carrier would reduce the types of planes that can be launched to types that normally operated out of "unimproved" fields.

Having the rearm pad active on the cv would reward landing skill with the ability to rearm and take back off.

If you're truly a hot stick, you will have a larger selection of planes that you can use there.

If you are lame, you don't get the better planes........because you are lame.

Maybe you should practice your gear down landings.

You can already re arm at a CV, what difference would there be in rearming on one at port??  :headscratch:

Every Port has a static CV at the dock. The ability to rearm on it would be rarley used I think but the ability to spawn an aircraft from it would. Although it would soon become just another target to be taken down for port capture. Don't know if aircraft were ever launched from a CV at Port in RL.

I like the idea of rearm at ports and gv bases though.

Ive brought the rearm pads up at vbases and was shot down on it (by the old hats) but I still like the idea.

If some difficulty were made in accessing the rearm pads such that rearming takes a big effort, major skill, or a long drive.......then adding the rearm pads would not have a huge negative affect on the game.

Adding a reward for doing something more difficult than bellying in and towering/re-upping may inspire pilots to fly with more realism.....even if the incentive is not realistic itself.

Should this be in the wishlist forum?  Also, the PO does not seem to understand that presently you can land on a CV and re-arm.  I guess he never caught the hook?  As to taking off from a now moving CV.

That is the whole point......you can't take a fully loaded C hog from that carrier.

That is the intent.

Leave all the planes enabled at the docked CV at the port and let skill determine what planes can up from the port.

He wants to land on the CV docked at the port and re-arm.

Seeing as how cv's in port were non-operational I would say no to his wish.
