u boats , and v2 s
« on: January 07, 2012, 12:37:17 PM »
it wouldnt take much to bring u boats or v2 missles into the game a player could use u boats like the cv groups that would be given with ports also a destroyer could have asdec and depth charges, also some bombers could have some detection device  attached along with depth charges  and u boats could also travel quicker surfaced as they would be submerged ,players who take control of u boats will ony have a allocated amount of torpedoes and deck gun munition , v2 could be a perk purchase to hit enemy targets but limited for destruction of complete shutdown of bases

Don't have to limit a V2 if the target is smaller than London or Antwerp.  Their accuracy is not very good.

U-boats.....well submarines will have a most difficult time sneaking up on targets since our water has no depth.
Might as well use this guy  :D

Not going to happen, U-boats the problem is with a surface speed of barely 20 knots, while a CV group does over 30knots. Under water you are looking at something close to 9mph.

V2 rockets would be way to expensive, how do you stop it? you can't. Also same for V-1 the chances of hitting near the target would be extremely slim.

Sure if you are going to cancel your account tomarrow and want to blow a few perks, why not fire off a few you might actually hit a Radar, but with the explosive power - its not going to do much damage for the perk cost.

You need to get Silent Hunter III or IV. No V2 but has everything else you asked for.

I agree, Silent Hunter III and IV are far better then what Aces High has to offer for Submarines. There are many many great mods that can really
give you the absolute feel of submarine warfare, however I will strongly suggest learning to play either on full realism.

I don't believe I ever had 1 submarine survive a tour (without the help of saved games).

Only reason why I would ever want to see a V2 rocket is if it was merely eye candy... Our HQ fires a barrage of V2 rockets at a enemy strat automatically... And all it will do is you see a rocket trail in the sky buzzing across and making a impact at the enemy strat... Would be cool to see...

+1 if it was just timed eye candy
-1 for it having to real purpose
-10 for not being able to strap the rocket to my Storch  :joystick:

i think that would real cool u boats sneaking up to a faster CV group around bases that they are attacking keep the icons flashing if within radar range and destroyers pinging when they are within firing range would keep every one guessing ,and make the game more fun,  and as far a v2 s , htc could put missile silos on bases and the time it took to fuel up would determine its accuracy giving chance for porkers to kill silo and missile before launch , and silos could be destroyed with a 15 min down time like hangers whether it had a missile loaded or not, fueling could take 60 secs to fuel 100 per cent 30 secs 50 per cent etc . it would be no different as if it was real scenario , u boats were designed for merchant shipping but it was very much used to sink , naval capital ships also HMS ark royal, HMS courageous , springs to mind

Even if subs were added, they wouldn't be able to even catch the TG.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.
