No they are not "aloud" to do that.  Pisses me off too because I was naive enough to buy it.  I thought it was serious let down from Band of Brothers.

I enjoyed it very much. It followed the books "With the old breed" and "Helmet for my pillow" really well.

Comparing it to BOB is kind of like apples and oranges, to me anyway.

I would bet it doesn't stay up on youtube for long.

I don't regret buying it, I'm on my second viewing of it right now in fact.

Not as good as BoB.  The flow of it was herky Jerky.  A weeks ago, the local block buster had a going out of business sale sign.  They wanted 74.99 for a regular dvd version of Bob.  That's the the only price comparison I needed.  I had my 13 year old nephew with me, and all he seen where bargains, as long as I was buying.  

Support the good stuff and buy it.

I have no idea if they are allowed to, but it's available, and I thought I'd throw it out there because some of you all would be super interested...it's also in HD.

Perhaps it is "allowed"  because the series ran its course, and the next step is to make it available for "free"  (youtube videos can generate substantial income)  I'm leaning towards that due to the quality of the upload.  Or I could be totally wrong.

I'm only on episode 5, but I have to agree.  BoB was excellent, but the Pacific so far seems to take the viewer far beyond the fight, and forces the viewer to think like each and every soldier while they are watching it.  That lack of control on the viewers part so far is keeping me glued to my pc to see what happens next.  Not because I am curious, but because I have to see how everything ends.

I think its episode 5, where they get to Pelilu and the action really takes off.  The first few episodes were kinda slow, but it gets intense.

What most people miss is the sheer psychological effects Jungle Warfare had on these men.   My grandfather was in the first waves of Guam and Okinawa.   What he told me, was spot on when I watched this on HBO for the first run.

That is the truth, I have a good friend whose Dad is still messed up to this day.  Those people went through a difficult hell in the Pacific.  I can not fathom it.
