In Burma... 13 March, 1944, General Scoones, British 4th Corps commander, authorizes the 17th and 20th Indian Divisions to pull back to Imphal. Scoones is supported by his superiors, Slim and Giffard, that reinforcements are required. Therefore, Mountbatten sends requests for the use of American aircraft, airlifting supplies to the Chinese, to redeploy the 5th Indian Division from the Arakan. Over Britain... 27 March, 1945, The last German V2 rocket lands southeast of London at Orpington. The V2 campaign has killed over 2700 British civilians and injured 6500.
