historical reenactments
« on: March 04, 2012, 11:47:57 AM »
On any day that a historical battle occured, we should reenact it in the game. For example: Iwo Jima, we should have a scale fleet to match the invasion one with a complete in-depth defensive system on the island. We can have at it in our own little ways the same battle that happend then. Game play will not change from the standard gamplay in the main maps, although people can have their own amphib. ops on their own or in a group. Same applys for land battles like Kursk or Stalingrad.

Here's a link to the setups for "This Day in WWII":

http://ahevents.org/events/this-day-in-wwii.html

The next one is "Siege of Malta" running on Wednesday.

Also, we have scenarios (which are more involved):

Don't forget scenarios!

It's like TDI but on a much larger scale. Events can last up to a month and a half, with usually up to two months of preparation.

The next one is coming up soon!

Aces High hosts a variety of different special events.  Browse on over to the AH Events web site ( http://www.ahevents.org/ ) and you will find:

  • This Day in WWII
  • Snapshots
  • Friday Squad Operations
  • Sunday European Campaign
  • Heavy Metal Suday
  • King Of The Hill
  • Squad Dueling League
  • Aces High Extreme Racing League
  • Axis vs. Allied Arena
  • Scenarios

Based on your post, I'd suggest you check out Scenarios, This Day in WWII, Snapshot, Sunday European Campaign, or Friday Squad Operations.

It's only one number different from that -- 9th AF. :)

P-51's, P-47's, P-38's, Spits, Typhoons, Tempests, Mossies, B-26's vs. 109's, 190's, and a small number of 262's and 234's.

Also, everyone gets some lives in tanks once they run out of aircraft lives.

Is this a 'Battle of the Bulge' type event now that HT modeled the Sherman? Define 'some' lives.  :D

It's post Battle of the Bulge (Battle of the Rhine).

On the GV side, it's M4-75, M4-76(W), Sherman Firefly VC, and M-18 vs. Panzer Mk IV H, Panther G, and Tiger I.

Pilots get 2 lives in aircraft and, once those are done, 2 lives in GV's.

People signing up just for GV combat get 4 lives in GV's and two in spotter planes.
