My second Logitech Freedom cordless, last one got sloppy and the hatswitch started to fail. So I needed a new stick fast and bought the same stick because it was cheap and available there and then, now this one has the same problems as the last one.. Think I am going to get me a Thrustmaster T.16000 and perhaps a set of Track IR one of these days.. Tired of not being able to look around my plane without a flickering between views, and spraying bullets into thin air because I can't center my stick.  :(

If I don't win the lottery first, then I will go for the latest Hotas Warthog and the CH pedals together with the Track IR. -And a Harley Davidson VRod for sunny days..   :D

Question for Delirium and PFactorD: How would you describe the Warthog stick compared to the other sticks you've had before? I am pretty sure it is a huge upgrade, beyond my imagination probably.. But I am sure others here also would like to know what it feels like to play AH with a stick of this caliber..  :aok  :rock

My current "setup"..

I used CH stuff, first gameport and then USB for at least 15 years.  Without a doubt, the Warthog has the nicest and smoothest (and heaviest) feel of all the sticks I've ever used. The biggest draw back is the programming, the CH guys have a much more simple and user friendly programming software suite than the Thrustmaster guys do.

I went from the Seatek cheapo to the logitech 3DPro, & it is still working fine after nearly 18 months. My next upgrade will be (Image removed from quote.)

Looking at the Thrustmaster for a replacement. Whats the deal with the removable throttle? Is it hard wired to the joystick or{?}, cordless?

I see.. So it's not just plug and play if I decide to make that upgrade? I'd really love to try a stick like that some time, and with all those buttons.. Wow, that must be really nice when you got it all programmed and set to your liking.. Hoping for a slight drop in price, but I guess that's not going to happen yet..

It is plug and play, I just don't bother to use the Thrustmaster for any programming. I would strongly urge you to update the firmware as soon as you buy it with that software, however.

I am using the Saiteck X65 and i have had zero problems with it ... the only downfall is getting used to no moving parts on joystick.

Its wired but the cord is enough to set it up how you like. Just got one recently with my old sidewinder dying. There's better sticks out there, but for the price it works good.

Wow, Pand..  :O
Sweet setup!

I ended up with the Thrustmaster T.16000 for now, as price became an issue. Tested the stick for the first time today, and I must say.. Compared to the old Logitech, I could not believe I was playing the same game. The smoothness was beyond anything I've tried before, and it was really a dream to fly with.

The old Logitech made my plane bounce all over the place, it spiked when I tried to aim and made my whole plane stutter. The hatswitch needed brute force and weird tweaks to even respond, and in most cases it responded by flickering between the view I wanted and the frontview. The result was I could see nothing, it just gave me a headache. But I still managed to fly with it and put up a somewhat decent fight.  :joystick:

Todays testing of my new stick showed that I need some time to get used to the new buttons on it, been flying with the Logitech since 2007 so now I got that noob feeling again with my new stick. Have to look down on my stick to locate the flaps and other stuff that I am used to operate without thinking about it. But it will come with practice, I just can't wait to get used to the Thrustmaster.  :aok

SAJ73 the stick is a beast, I'm using it instead of an older CH fighterstick. Do you used the 3rd axis? (rudder)

Yes, I use the twisty rudder. I have never tried pedals before, and I did not feel like I was ready for that step just yet..
