Do you know who Rolling Thunder is?

We were one of the original horde base rolling squads.  When our CO left and returned, he had to start the Alchemists because RT wasn't going back to base rolling.

Don't presume that you are the only base rolling squad...

Some of us have played both sides of the equation for quite awhile now...

still...at least RT had some good/above average sticks.

not to bash the vtards but it feels like i shoot down a vtard i think i shot an AFK'er down. RT on the other hand like jarbo, EagleOne or that british dude ( i forgot his name) were a pretty good right

Exactly.  Squads tend to evolve.  It can also be forced but it takes time to do so.  For the past several months I've been persuading the rest of the brass that dropping every hanger at every base is efficient but extremely boring and should only be done as a last resort.  Once I started forcing the issue things changed faster.  Whether or not we realize it the game changes over time as well as well as the tactics that work to produce fun.  Sometimes tactics are changed simply to become less predictable.

You probably do shoot down vtards laden with ords simply because they don't have the experience to know what to do.  Objective based play can add a set of blinders to a newer pilot just like score based play.  If a guy without a ton of experience in air combat is headed to a field with an assignment, a lot of them don't know that there is a time to just cut your losses on that target and get light in order to make it to the objective field.
I saw this for the first time the other day, I found an NOE jug mission and not one of them seemed to make any effort to try and survive.
If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

I would say we already have this in game, some of the larger squads do just throw out invites to people with no squadron.

I've managed to salvage some really good pilots that have been sucked up by them over the years or they have realised that there is a genuine British squad for them to join after they got bored of base taking and being bossed around  "PORK THE ORDS @  XXX"  etc.

Using the Mesmetron to cleanse their head of win the war mentality and chess piece loyalty. Then build a fighter pilot from scratch that walks in the light.

The Mesmetron™ is the legal property of The GFC and I'll thank you to have it cleaned after use. Last time there was noob brain all over the inside like Chilli Con Carne  :old:

I think it's good idea but sometimes it backfires, training players up. A friend and I once invested considerable energy training an individual who turned out to be a secret sociopath and all round sadistic person.

My apologies to turn this topic back on track, but any suggestions/additions to this idea?

isnt your squads order to "protect my ass"

nope maybe you confuse me with joker,

LCA, claim jumpers,  jokers, alchemists some have gotten better with age.  They aren't a bad thing they just need to realise that throwing more numbers at a target doesn't necessarily mean more success, if they spent just a little time focusing and improving ones abilities than going for the next base / map they would do much better and have more fun with it.   Once you can defend yourself in a 1vs1 situation you might not go suicidally forth onto the next target with such haste or runaway everytime some one gets co-alt.

Torquila's wish is already in place just with a more informal take on it.

The problem is you guys have grown with more experience yet still try to defend the actions of your C.O and your squad rather than embracing the light that everyone else who you argue with has seen.  By having no respect for your opponents or the other teams in the glory of your chess piece.   It is an extremely selfish way to play the game and new players will either leave or join an opposing horde   :bhead.   How do expect players to remain here long term if all that matters is capturing the next base?   :old:

MMMh no, the most common order is "stay away from my bombers, they are mine" , or when he is in a good mood "I'm taking the lead and left, you can hit the right"  :bolt:

Back on subject if every newcomer had a squad at first login, it would be annoying to explain them how to leave a squad when you try to invite them to your horde. And most new players wouldn't even realise they are in a squad.
