I've been enjoying german style beers from a semi-local brewery, I really love their stuff:

I'd have to say the Marzen and Winterbock are my two favorites...  their Pilsner is really crisp as well.

Not much for anything lighter than a Lager Ale. Budweiser makes a decent beer, but honestly y'all should try "Flat tire" or "Spotted Cow" from Wisconsin. They are really good as far as a locally brewed beer is concerned. Although I have to admit I am rather biased against Bud in that  instead of being an American company it's now a German company making beer in America. It's a bias due to bud  being sold (like harley) as "Made in America". As for the Platinum.. next time I'll try it.
Yes there is a Huge learning curve in flying. It starts on Take off and ends on the glide slope for landing. In short The grade arc is the difference you take between being in the sky or in a mountainside.

My Favorite Beers:

New Castle
Boddington's
Guinness Extra Stout
Lagunita's IPA
Grolsch
Negra Modelo
Gordon Biersch Winter Bock
Anchor Steam

There's a lot of others I'll experiment with, but I basically drink one of those listed above on a rotating basis.  The New Castle Founder's Ale was quite delicious as well, but much different character than regular New Castle.  It was a bit Hoppier and not quite as carmely, still a damn fine brew.

For the domestic side Anchor Steam, Gordon Biersch and Lagunitas are all great micro breweries and all have their own style.  Anchor is brewed more traditionally American, but what an American beer should be.  They're best on a hot day, and don't let the bitterness of the 1st drink get to you, by the end the flavors meld nicely and make you want more. Gordon Biersch is about as traditional German as you can get that's brewed in the US.  I actually got turned onto it by the local Turn Verein Hall's Oktoberfest.  Lagunita's is straight new-wave American brewing from the 80's Renaissance.  Very strong character with a lot of hops, but enough sweetness in there to make them easy to drink, and definitely high gravity.

I would agree that in all, the German's definitely have a great brewing tradition, but I'm also a fan of my English Stouts and Ales which have a completely different character from German brewing.  Finally, I think I go for American the best for the simple fact an Above Average beer brewed in the US and drank at it's peak freshness will always blow out of the water an Excellent Import from Germany that's sat in shipping and customs for god knows how long.

I'm definitely not a New Castle fan because for some reason, I always go  when I drink it  :lol
BUT, a Dos Equis or some Blue Moon are my 2 favorites whenever I do decide to drink.
No one knows what the future may bring.

While I'm Irish and supposed to like Guinness, I don't. I do like Bud Light sometimes. Trouble is that it's expensive so I go for Heinken which is equally expensive but nicer. Having said that there is a bunch of great East European beers that have arrived with the immigrants. Budvar being one, which is the  real Budweiser. Budweiser here is crap and expensive even compared to some of the rubbish imported stuff.

If Budweiser platinum makes it here and it will. I'll give it a go but it has a lot of competion. I do like the Spitfire ale though, but only in small quantities.
