The "BOB" scenario's are the best
« on: April 30, 2012, 12:33:22 AM »
The Battle of Britian scenario's only come once a year and in my opinion they are the best scenario's.

Many years ago when I was new to AHII one of my first FSO's was a BOB scenario (ALLIED) and I will never forget it.  "TheBug" was the AXIS CIC and he put nearly every German pilot into JU88's.  3 VERY, VERY large formations came across England, one behind the other separated by about 10 miles.  To this day I have never seen a larger bomber formation in AHII.  I wish I had film of that formation now.  Lets just say that Leigh Mallory's "Big Wing" didn't work that night.  That JU88 formation was equally impressive as it was deadly.  And the best 3 minutes of flying in any FSO I can remember!!   :D  I was hooked at that point and never missed another BOB frame.

I'm hoping that the set up will allow the AXIS to up plenty of bombers if they choose.  This is the closest scenario to the 8th AF scenario's we run in 44 time period.  Only reversed for the ALLIES.

I hope the turn out will be good as these are the best scenario's and I appreciate the CM's putting the BOB in  :salute

Sorry but I'll take the PTO any day. But being a special events guy and having to spend 80% of the year in the ETO I guess I've had to learn to like it.

<--- Sees that we are running BoB for this months FSO and sighs....ETO again  :bhead

I know last month we were in N. Africa.

I'm with you Hightone, kinda bummed about staying in the ETO, I was hoping for a russian front or a trip back to the PTO.  still... :salute to the guys who put these together for us.
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

We are heading East in June...  :P

But I do like the BOB setups myself too.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

My remarks are in no way critical of our CM team. I know these guys are putting fourth their time for the benefit of us all. I and my squad are very thankfull for their work. They make the FSO possible for us all.

I just sometimes wish we could spend more time in the PTO and CBI theaters. But I can also see that there are folks that would like it just the opposite. So it's gotta be a balance I suppose.
