NEW Ladder
« on: May 03, 2012, 01:43:58 PM »
this would be a favorite ride Ladder.... rules would be something along these lines

1-Challenger states his first ride...
2-Challengee can choose any ride in the Fighter category
3-Winner chooses his next ride first
4-25% fuel NO drop tanks or F3 view
5-meet at agreed upon ALT NO going above agreed ALT until Icon range.
6-at Icon Range ANYTHING goes including HOing
7-best of 7

these rules are just the basics for now I will polish them up if this starts up.

I was also thinking maybe if participants choose 1 plane at the start of ladder that is the plane they must use for the whole ladder, but I kinda like the idea of being able to change it up better....

who would be interested?

semp

when the winner picks his plane the loser of that round can counter with what he thinks will give him the ability to win.

:huh

the easiest way to explain that is on mismatched planes...sometimes the HO is the best way to win...say  a 190 vs Zero  the best chance the 190 has is to HO the Zero....and that is a very good tactic, if the zero can avoid and get the 190 on the over shoot then he capitalized on the Zeros ability to turn....

Sounds like a good setup for the new guys. :D

new and old alike..... :neener:

I would... I'll fly my 38 against whatever ride they choose. Granted, I'll probably get smoked fast vs a Spit16 stick, but I'd rather train under the worst possible circumstances.

My availability is very limited for the next 10-14 days.

You're going to have to find people that don't mind putting themselves in certain situations. For example, a 109K is going to always out climb a spit 5 and sometimes, they need to be man enough to start below or not go vertical at all.

I had some great fights with Perverts 190D9, I knew there were certain things that would immediately end the fight for him, so I often purposefully gave him initial angles knowing that I would never expect a 190D9 to turn back into the fight in the MA. I had a really good time and it isn't so much about winning or losing, it was just nice to see a master in a 190D9 give that airframe the work out it deserves!   :salute

I know I'll also lose vs a Ki84 co alt, after all, it IS a P38 with training wheels.  :rofl

What are the dueling rules? How far can one extend before they default? 2k? More? I ask because if one picks a 190 and the other a 109G, the 109 will utterly dominate the 190, unless the 190 stick extends far enough to reset the merge. Then again, I would not expect to see many 190s.

there would be no rules when it comes to that....if someone is in a 190 he can extend all he wants...

well maybe at the icon range...whats that 6k?  heck even 4K would be enough room to work with in a BnZ type plane

I don't want to put any restrictions on any type of plane though, if a person really feels comfortable in a 190 he should be able to use every thing that 190 can do....

say I was against a 190 in my KI he would be silly to turn right back in.

I would want the person to be able to fully utilize the tool he chooses.
