I agree, the graphics weren't what I expected. With everyone going crazy about it, I'd still be interested in giving it a shot. I'd like to see a free trial of some sort eventually. I wouldn't be surprised if they never run one though.
Everyone who bought a CD copy SHOULD have gotten around 10 free promo codes to share that allows people to play what was released in the BETA (Up to a skeleton or something?).
Like, ya know, when that thing that makes you move, it has pistons and things, When your thingamajigy is providing power, you do not hear other peoples thingamajig when they are providing power.

Interesting, I wonder if that's the case or not.

I played the original Diablo and enjoyed it, way back...  I'm going into my busiest time of the year, work wise.  My game time will be broken down into smaller chunks then normal.

Is Diablo 3 a single player game with a multiplayer option?  And, if it is a single player game, can you pause it at any time?

I was thinking about picking it up, but don't want to if it is only a multiplayer game.

It's single player with multiplayer features.  One major downside is that you always have to online when you play regardless if you're only playing single player.

You can play alone, same as the other Diablos.  As stated, you've got to be able to connect to Bnet's servers to play.  I don't know if you can pause a single-player game, but it wouldn't surprise me if you can't.  The upside is, it's pretty easy to be safe, town portals don't cost anything anymore so you can just return to town if you need to pause.

As to the promo codes, yes you get a stack of the damn things.

I will say Regular mode is regular mode, you can die as much as you want - me and Volron basically sprinted to beat Diablo last night and did, now we entered Nightmare mode. Both level 32 Demon Hunters.
Nightmare mode is after you beat the game on regular mode - you lose the training wheels, if you die - you die - you lose everything in nightmare mode. So far despite the problems Blizzard had Diablo 3 is 6 stars out of 5.

Started a Witch Doctor for my 2nd toon, so far I like the change from the Demon Hunter, which by the way was an awesome class to start from.

the Demon hunter is great for stand off attacks, higher levels it can do some serious damage, was just passing 700 dps at Diablo, makes me wish I stuck around to gather some more gold/items in training wheel mode.

Yeah, that's HC.  In SC, you can die as many times as you want and you'll be fine, minus the expense of having to repair your gear.  It's not as "hard" as D2 was, in when you died in SC mode there, you lost xp and gold as well as having to repair stuff (which gold was COMPLETELY useless is D2 except for pots and repairs).  The XP bit wasn't an issue IF you ran all the way back to your body or if you were with some folks and they opened a portal at or near your body.  HC is the same in both, of course.  You die, you are dead dead.  For HC mode, I know in D2 you could have it set so that certain folks in your game could loot your corpse if you died in HC.  You could retrieve everything you had equipped except what was in your inventory slots (lost a few charms which some were VERY hard to get).  I'm curious if they allowed that same option in HC in D3.  I would think they would, but won't know until someone joins me in HC mode. :headscratch:

FedEx was....slow. Finally got mine earlier today.

Got 3 "invite" keys as per usual with Blizzard. If anyone wants one you're free to it, just send a PM.

I've got three invites if anyone wants them as well.  Just shoot me a PM with the name of the sexiest fighter of WW2 and it's yours if you provide the correct answer.

*UPDATE* All gone to the winners.

At least 19 people sent me PMs and out of that only 4 got the correct answer.  I mean come on, wasn't it obvious the answer was the P-38?

 :rofl  Yes, it was obvious!

How can any red blooded male not see the front view of a P-38 and not think those two spinners look like boobies!  And those twin booms are long sexy legs!

I mean hello...  It was quite obvious!

And thanks Ack-Ack for the code.  I appreciate the chance to check the game out before I fork out the money for it.   :salute   :D
