I don't know if I agree this is a good thing. I don't really know Ink. I've had a few PMs with him, only ever seen him once in game and we were coincidentally on the same country. However I do identify with his mission since I think we have that in common. I know people like bustr tend to label it as 'elitism', and others as 'boastful' or 'egotistical' but I don't think it's any of those things. I think Ink and those like him basically believe that an individual using superior ACM and skill can outweigh two or more players who are more 'result centred' who tend to employ a low risk high advantage approach, and then he proceeds to go out there every time he flies to illustrate his belief by engaging at a disadvantage, fighting to the inevitable end and then also sometimes weathering the derision of those that brought him down by fair means or foul.

Respectfully Batty, I think having a martyr complex is slightly different: if you sort of go about that but then constantly moan about it or use it to get some other kind of acknowledgement.

Of course what Ink-like players do can become extremely frustrating, especially over time as the little 'fouls' add up.


All I'm saying is that I think it is a shame if Ink totally gives up on his main activity and essentially joins the herd of uber fast ride hit and run fighters. I think it would be a great loss (actually, I'm not sure it's in his nature to achieve it anyway, and that is further to his credit).

Move to midwar ink, its everything your looking for.  I swaped last tour and am having a blast.  You can get that 1v1, you wont be jumped by a 262 la7 etc and the guys in there have a good friendly rivalry going.  With 10- 20 more players each day like yourself it could be the happening place.

 All good points Shida, well stated. The martyr complex as I intend it to be taken is that of being at a disadvantage, be it plane type or flight planning, and thinking it makes one's self somehow so much more valuable to the 'gameplay' at such great personal sacrifice. Fly at a disadvantage if you choose but surely it doesn't take a degree to work out the flaw in the philosophy of expecting everyone to fly at a disadvantage also. If everyone flew the same there would be no disadvantage.

 Now in Ink's case I believe he has just hit a rough patch and needed to rant about it. Perhaps nothing will change for him. then again perhaps everything will and he will learn to enjoy the main arena in new ways. He is hardly the first person to decide to always fly at a disadvantage and practice cunning ACMs at all times. He would also not be the first to realise that there is more to the game than that. Now perhaps he will find new facets, yet still have his old style to fall back on from time to time. If we eat icecream all day it eventually loses it's joy. The trick is to eat lots of different nice things so that when we have icecream it is enjoyable to it's full potential.

 If Ink does start flying around in a dora and picking people out of furballs then I see it as a positive thing. This gives the opportunity for a different player to take Ink's role as the disadvantaged flying ninja. Without the dora picker there would be no disadvantaged ninjas showing everyone how much cooler they are than sliced bread with their pixel manipulation skills.

+1 Ava is a different animal for MA some good fights in there and the community gets along for the most part/

AVA is great if it can drum up a few more people, think the quality is much higher in terms of players is what caught my eye few years back.

I rather have one or two good small fights then go in the MA to watch 60 take a base vs 2 defenders.

I truly appreciate the words from some of you guys...I see now that maybe I have been wrong in thinking I have not influenced some to a better game.....

to be perfectly honest I am frustrated with the "win" at all cost no Honor game play...people actually laugh when I bring up Honor...I don't understand that...ya.... so its a game...so is chess but you should still play chess with Honor...at least I do....

so NO I will not be joining the Hoard....I will hang up my stick before I do that....(so NO midway you will never see me with a V in front of my name )

I love Aces High...... it is by far the greatest game I have ever played...Thank you HTC ...I must do something though...and the only thing I can think of  is grabbing a better plane to fight the hoard....

no I don't bomb....no I don't GV........fighter mode for me......call me simple I don't care... I am a simple man...I just want a fight where no one really dies or gets hurt.....where people still hold Honor above "winning" and actually fight in a combat game.

I fly the way I do(dont gang.... vulch ect) because that's just how I am as a person.... I don't want to win with a stacked deck so to speak.........I started this thread because there are some people who I respect highly in this game and want them to know why all of a sudden I will be in a uber ride...basically that's all I am gonna change...flying around in a spit16 ect ect is like racing in a vet when everyone else is in a chevette.......so when I come across a single con if I am in a spit and they die....I will gladly go to the DA.....
