Cool, thanks for tips. I used a dive bombing gunsight (provided by Rob, thanks) which helps a bit. I can land it in the general area consistently, but not direct hits on tanks. The bigger bombs will get me kills, but the smaller ones that require direct hits, I've yet to master. Someday.  :)

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Usranger, just wondering in the Tank gunnery range, are the tanks supposed to blow up like in the regular MA? Would this be a good place to go and see what the weaknesses are for each vehicle? or Where the best place to hit a vehicle is? :headscratch:

Not complaining mind you, the "range" is great and i have improved my Dive bombing significantly. :aok

You can set damage to match the main arenas when you use a terrain offline or in a custom arena.

Hahah, kinda. I've never heard someone whispering over my shoulder, telling me when to pickle, but I can't prove its impossible.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

Sometimes, I see guys able to dive bomb low and slow.  I cannot do that.  The general rule for dive bombing is dive angle and distance to target (along with a starting speed.

This is what I do.  I never miss when I do this.  SOmetimes, I roll in under 200 speed and it does throw off your aim point.  But if you stick to the below as your foundation for dive bombing, it should get you in target.  Generally, I use the F6f with 1000 pounders.

The best thing to do is energy build a LITTLE bit.

1.  Get your speed up to 200...
2.  Be at LEAST 4000ft AGL
3.  Diver in at a 40 degree angle.
4.  Place the bottom of your glass on the target.
5.  Release your bomb at approx. 800ft from target.

Hope this helps you!

I'm by no means deadly with the bombs but I would say its about feel and also this: in a dive the spot on the ground that is not moving up or down on your wind shield is where you would hit on the trajectory your on. You can begin to get a feel by concentrating on that spot and where the bombs end up.  If your in a vertical dive that spot is pretty close to where the bombs land.

Hmm, if its one thing I suck at, it's dive bombing. P38s and 109G14 are the only planes that I'll carry a bomb around. What do I use as an aiming point in these planes?

And by "suck", I mean miss the target by 100 ft suck.

I have a technique that I use every time with great success.
1.  Climb to 10k above the target.  This will help you get above most of the defenses.  You will be a sitting duck when your heavy with eggs.
2. Once your near the target roll inverted
3. Glance at the artificial horizon to make sure your nose level
4. Place the target in your forward-up  view, 1/2 way between the center of your screen and the top of your screen.
5. Pull into a steep dive
6.  Roll upright
7.  Line up the target.

At this point you will be in a 70-80 degree dive angle and building speed quickly.  Here is where you need to practice to get a feel for when to release your eggs.  I can usually place the target just a hair belown the center dot and nail the target with my eggs everytime.  I still compress out and die sometimes, but that just means I should have released sooner.

This technique is worthless for hitting GVs
