P-38s were not used as recon aircraft.

F-5s were used as recon aircraft.  F-5s were unarmed P-38s with cameras in the nose.

The Mosquito PR.Mk XVI was called the F-8 in USAAF service.

Maybe reco planes in aces high would be able to see respawn times in overlay of the any destructable objects, and their damage status? À la starcraft. Then they could see if the shore battery is nearly dead, or went it will respawn.

Maybe reco planes in aces high would be able to see respawn times in overlay of the any destructable objects, and their damage status? À la starcraft. Also they would be able to see if the shore battery is nearly dead, and when it will respawn.

Example:

ReconPilot: CV is 50% dead, keep it going!
ReconPilot: The first fighter hangar is going to respawn in 5Minutes, hurry with those troops!
