Modding Planes into the Game
« on: July 16, 2012, 12:15:50 PM »
With all of us whining and sometimes crying  about planes, ships, boats, tanks,  vehicles, and other things ; why dont we find a way for us to build em, I mean, alot of us have smarts and are computer savy and could help,  we could build the package up and then present it to HT. The presentation would  be why is it needed, when did it serve, did it serve in actual numbers, service history,  specs on the plane, and why we should have it. Just a thought :bolt: :noid :noid

Just about everyone can get this information, which is quite easy to obtain, the problem is the modeling part - which HTC does to insure its correct thus is why nobody outside HTC does it.

It has been brought up before and HTC's answer was "No, there are too many specific things that need to be done to the point that it would take HTC about as long to validate an outsourced airplane as it would have to just have done it themselves."

well as for the actual physical model, a good plane can be created in 3DSM, Blender, MS3D, etc. Now if that model could be converted to a game friendly format then modified by HTC, it could save them SOME trouble. for example someone creates a P-61.
Next if they set the meshes to the correct names:
Fuselage, Cockpit, Engine 1, Engine 2 etc.

Well then HTC could convert, animate, etc couldnt they? Just my 2c. then again I'm more a level designer lmao.

i am gonna use paint to make a drawing and ask htc to turn it into a Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz y Picasso.
