I looked back at kappa's old BBS posts and there are a lot with an Aom signature in them. I'm officially confused myself.
The answer is likely very simple. TheDudeDVant channeled Bruce Lee's "water" philosophy per film below.
So, here goes:
TheDudeDVant in March of 2004 read about original kappa's awesomeness and reviewed his scores thinking, dude
Seeing that old kappa became a "parolee" and likely terminated his account at the height of awesomeness, TheDudeDVant decided to honour original kappa by adopting him as his Fighter Pilot Hero (in secret) in March 2004, by taking on his in-game name, and over the years worked hard to morph into said level of awesomeness and even exceeding it.
That way original kappa continued to be honoured, respected, and admired for his skills in secret while new kappa could fully embody the original and become "the" kappa. Isn't that right, TheDudeDVant?
Fighter Pilot Heros can be very inspirational and motivational for skill development.
Like water, put yourself into the name, become the name. TheDudeDVant likely watched Bruce Lee's motivational film and applied "kappa" where Bruce was metaphorically using "water":

The first Fighter Pilot Hero of Aces High may have surfaced and water has become the teapot.
