salvo 14 against a HQ at say 280mph, 10 or so of the bombs will hit at maximum. You need to slow down, or make 2 passes.

If you had any messages that said object destoryed or gun destroyed, then some bombs missed.

I never bomb hq from any higher than 2800 feet above it.

I was at 3k and yes had allot of gun kills  :salute

IIRC it has to be direct hits to damage HQ - near misses wont do splash damage.

Cheers M8

Right I will try bombing at close to stall speed ios that about 150mph or less in a loaded Lanc ?

would the 6x 2,000lb (+ 3x 500lb) be better for a one-pass run?  :headscratch:

yes for sure, but a 2K bomb is less efficient than 2*1K bombs

mmmmmmmmmm :headscratch:

Salvo 9 a low speed drop as the sight touches the edge.

I don't suppose there is a way to test this off line?

Sure there is. Offline or in custom arena, just uncheck "protect objects" in arena settings, so that you can up from a friendly base nearby and aren't harrased by AA fire.

Yup.
To be precise, 6x2000lbs + 3x*500lbs = 6x(1,718)+3x(562) = 11,994lbs of damage. For a formation that adds up to just under 36K.

So does that mean you have to go with the 14 x 1000's

I fly over at no more than 220mph with speed and course stabilized and drop about 30 feet before the base of the building.

My connection is a cell phone so it's possible my technique is taking account of my 300ms latency.

I use salvo 13 when there is a nearby vehicle spawn so I can kill the lemmings in thier m3s.

Your latency doesn't matter, as you are not trying to hit objects on the server, but on your on computer. 'What you see is what you get' in this case.

I did the full load at salvo 14 at a well calibrated 160MPH for minimum dispersal no joy  :(

I think i was bang on as I released when the cros hair touched the base of the building.

What do you reckon Lusche?

It is far easier to get the HQ down in 1 pass using the 2000 lb bombs.  Obviously, more than 1 flight of bombers is needed if we're speaking of B24's or Lancasters.  I have not tried using the 4000 lb bombs from the B29's yet, but I can assume the same logic applies.

Unless the bombers are using historically accurate bombing speeds (220-240 TAS), then it would be very difficult to drop all 14 1000 lb bombs on top of the HQ, even then I think it would be easier to use multiple set of bombers.
