Problems watching video on AH home page........
« on: September 05, 2012, 04:15:51 PM »
When I click to watch a video it says IE has encountered a problem and needs to close and then reopens the page.

I cannot click to watch the videos without this happening.

Gonna try this on you tube etc. and see if it happens there also.....

When the error message opens this in the info I found under "view details".

I watched it on both firefox and IE and both worked fine. Maybe you have your settings set to stop flashplayers?

Not sure, it might be under the security settings, too tight a setting may stop it.

Also under tools/internet options/programs you can turn off/on programs IE will use.

That about it for me with IE, I don't use it except when testing a web page I built.

You need to drop using IE first and then worry about anything else. IE is a horrible excuse of a browser.

Try with another browser. Google Chrome has its own way to handle Flash and Java, making it a good choice. I'm not a big fan of IE, but it affects to many network and Internet related things so I like to keep it intact.

I've seen the symptoms you described when there's something wrong with FlashPlayer. Uninstall it, clean the Registry with Ccleaner, reset IE to default settings and reinstall FlashPlayer.

If that doesn't help, uninstall and reinstall your Ati drivers. If you like your current ones, their installation files will remain in the C:\ATI\Support folder for a reinstall.

I just had a problem after updating flashplayer.  I would only get a green screen and sound on youtube.  found out that you need to deselect hardware acceleration.  not sure if this is related to your problem.

Good point, Semp! That one is a PITA and too easy to forget. IE9: Control Panel->Internet options->Advanced->Untick Hardware Acceleration, and/or from FlashPlayer settings with this piece of advice from Adobe.

Update your card's driver and update flash.

Seriously consider using either Google Chrome or Firefox instead of Internet Exploder... I know this has been said, but it cannot be reiterated enough.

You might also run CCleaner just to cover blowing out any cache/temp files as well.
