I was listening to a weather expert on the radio yesterday (a REAL expert, not some talking head) and he was explaining how his whole career he's wondered when this will happen because it's happened before, back in the '50s.  He was talking about it just being a matter of timing for just a few different variables to come together.  He said he's seen the setup happen several times before but those storms veered just a bit left or right and didn't nail the magic combo that could flood out NY.  But it's happened before and it'll happen again, so it isn't anything "new", it's just new to us because we haven't seen it happen in most of our lifetimes.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

"Life threatening Storm Surge".    I see Drama Graduates make it into Meteorology these days.   Talk about over-sensationalism.

My Uncle is a FEMA sub-contractor. He left for the east coast this morning. It appears they are staging crews to be on the ground when it hits.

I just hope the ochem exam I have tomorrow gets postponed
My friends going to school in the eastern parts of the state (Kutztown, Philadelphia, etc.) have already had classes canceled for Monday and Tuesday. I don't know how it's supposed to affect Pittsburgh though, I've been in Harrisburg all weekend
