Its North Korea, not China?
Anyways, while I liked the original as a kid, as an adult, I think the original is really really bad. I want to say "sucks", but I'm sure that will come out as something else on these forums. The acting was awful, the premise was stupid. Now that the Berlin wall fell (25 years ago or whatever), I'm no longer required to say I like this bad movie. So I think it is certainly possible that the re-make will far exceed the original. They don't have a very high standard to meet. On the other hand, no one takes the threat seriously today, which is far different than in the cold war days. So this remake will not make nearly as much as an impact on society than the original no matter how good it is, that can't be disputed.
