Sorry, I should've been more specific.  What about the instances when the other guy isn't firing?

I've had this happen many times:

Fighting somebody, perhaps getting into rolling scissors, or maybe just some type of quick reversals.
I receive the message, "So and so has collided with you."
Neither one of us was firing our guns.
We both take damage.

Hitech wants to see that film.        :D

I'll look for it.  I auto-film every sortie, but I don't know if I named the recent instance that I'm thinking about.

How recent?  Previous to 2.27 Patch 0 there was a bug that had something to do with 'collided' messages not showing properly in films, though they were displaying correctly in game.

It should be right then, if I understand correctly.

That should clear it up. If the collision code is written so that you only collide on your PC and you can only take damage not give damage in a collision then it seems unlikely that a collision you didn't have damaged you. As far as I know that's how it works. Even without the collision message it should be clear if you hit or missed on your end.

That's how I've always understood it as well, and why this stood out to me.

I'll start going through films, and hopefully I'll find it. :)

Talk about spending time on doing something with no real world value!   :D

Occasionally both FEs see a collision (not necessarily the exact same collision) and both players take damage.
