TEACH THEM HOW TO TURN !!!!

If you teach them, they learn, and become better players.

If people keep looking for the "easy way" and asking for the game to be dumbed down more and more, before you know it we will have a button on the dash that when you spawn you have your buddies hit it and it will fly the mission all by it self. Won't THAT be fun!

The biggest problem is you can't help guys that don't want to be helped.  :(

Just keep doing what your doing and those that want to learn will. Those that don't..... will lose their drones  :aok

No offense but if you cannot handle the simple task of and/or learn how to keep your bank angle under  X  amount of degrees then perhaps you should stick to GV's or go back to XBOX.

Even I learned on my very first day in the game 'ok..if I turn too far my drones blow up...don't turn so hard next time'

It doesn't get too much simpler/easier!

The damn drones are already too damn easy to keep together. They also have no drag dead engines, jammed flaps etc (or how else can they mange to keep up in formation when damaged?).

And don't get me started on what I've seen people do and live through with the drones intact (barrel rolling Lancs anyone?) I don't believe drones blow up due high bank angles. They blow up when you exceed a rather large amount of lateral separation from the formation.

I say let more people lose more drones more easily.  :P

Sorry earl, -1 to your suggestion.  Learning how to keep your drones is just part of, well learning the game.  No single part of this game is hard, ccollectively, it is all alot to learn and master.  I don't want the game "dumbed down" to the lowest common denominator.

Wag more, bark less.

I just tested this to verify that they are doing what I wanted.

Drones will bank up to 35 degs, I.E. they will follow a standard 30 deg turn, hence why I set the max at 35.

Won't argue with the "boss", but I'll have to do some more checking myself. When I am flying 17's, which I do 95% of the time, seems like at about 30 degrees of bank, the drones start sliding off to one side or the other. I will make a more definite note of the angle of bank, next time I see that.

If you're stomping the rudder that's more than 30 degrees of bank. Those gunner position turns bank a lot more than the drones can.

30 degrees:

I think full bank YOU can get is 40 or 45 degrees. Drones cannot match this.

So the question is: Are you really at 30 degrees? Or are you more than that?

With all due respect..

The thing that confuses me here earl, is, you used to be a pilot IRL - and you (from what I've seen) Are always trying to make the game more realistic! Which is a good thing IMO..

But this would only make it 'gamier' with people doing more aerobatics in their bombers than they already do. Hell I've made a B17 do a loop and barrel rolls and kept my drones.

Believe me Earl, the new guys must and will learn to master something as simple as keeping their drones or they will never get very far in AH and never really experience the full AH experience :)

Throttle setting? If everyone runs 100% full throttle all the time - which I believe the majority do - the drones will not be able to keep up in a turn. Try backing off the throttle a bit and see what happens.

:what I found were the drones starting to slide out of position at around 20 degrees of bank, although they would come back into position after established heading by the "mother" ship.

They will not, to run the test I set the auto pilot bank angle max for gunners to be exactly 30 degrees. I.E. more precise then your guess is when looking at a computer screen.

The drones do not slide out and return they stay with you at 30 deg bank for ever.

The current auto pilot bank angle for gunners is 45 degs.

I believe the biggest cause of lost drones is the lag time between when YOUR plane starts turning and reaches max bank, and when the drones do same. I normally drop a wing well before the turn, and actually start the turn after the drones have gotten with the program (I'm usually at 2/3 throttle when bombing as well)
