The real scary thing, it's not even a test ride, that's his bike.

wrong

the guy was doing a test ride for one of the French Moto mags, the bike was not his and it was totaled....
the test ride was set up to get a review done on the FJR.

Well according to the article it is his motorcycle.Unless they meant it was the motorcycle he was riding.

I wonder if the motorcycle would have sunk the small sailboat if it hand landed in it instead of on the dock.

Depends...  The FJR wet weight is 639 pounds (without rider or loaded gear), so if the weight capacity of the boat is higher than that, it would float unless the bike punches a hole in it.  I really don't know much about boats, but I guess it could be possible that the bike could have hit it with enough force to what I believe they call "swamp" it, which could cause it to sink.

apologies SIK1, Just re-read my post, it cam across a bit blunt, that was not the intention,
Did  a bit more research on the bike... it was in fact a loaner from Yamaha importer,  that same day they had another "oops" when one of the reporters for a Danish mag, laid one down due to oil / water on the road...
all in all not a good day for Yamaha :(
