If you cry with Oprah on TV, it'll all turn out ok in the end.

I always though Sadams best ploy would have been to show up on Oprah.

Seems strange that the type of cancer he got has nothing to do with taking testosterone or any other performance enhancing drugs......

Maybe this is the reason I've lost interest in many sports.

To accuse all those people of lying when he was the guilty party took a lot of ball.

Lemond took the greatest hit. He did it right and had to compete against a cheat.

Through all these years Greg was right!

<S> Mr Lemond, You are, and will always be the Man!

What a bad time in History.

When Liestrong first started to show on pro scene he was w/ Motorola...but never(NEVER) was a real world class cyclist. Would have been great helper/domestic, but world class? No.
He admits starting PED use even before being on Motorola...than he gets cancer. That his cancer was NOT due to his doping is strange statement. Let us remember these drugs are often black-market/Chinese made copies. It is understood during this period 70% of these drugs were made ABOVE their medical need. Excess amounts went where, sports. They used(especially early in EPO era) amounts no Dr would proscribe for healthy person. People died, suddenly, in their sleep. Some, on same development team Lance was on at 19, came up w/immunity deficient problems after they took injections that they were told were 'vitamins'. They sued and received a settlement out of court. A name comes up there, guy named Thom Wiesel, not gonna mention him again but he's all over this whole mess. Some athletes get little advantage from PEDs(Performance Enhancing Drugs), some get none, some, like Lance, do amazing stuff on them.
He claims new 'Blood Passport' is good, working solution. Than says he did not use past 2005. HIS blood passport says different. He says these trying to get around statute of limitations.
He went past being mere bully. He actively totally screwed lives and careers of those who knew/felt he was doping. He spent a lot of money doing it. He robbed anyone who wanted to, or did, compete clean. Alot of other riders/teams just could not afford to pay a Doctor hundreds of thousands to dope effectively. He's worth $125 million or more because of his thieving. He is still lying, covering for those who helped him screw people.
Why would he keep lying? JAIL! He's hoping to influence future juries/public opinion that he's been excessively punished, others weren't crucified like him! His last shield is one he made, his charity...after all, as he's said himself, he's helped so many people.

Never liked him as a person, but I thought he was no different than the rest.  His admission made me lose any respect I had for him.  As many said, he lied and cost a lot of people a lot of things.

Two articles to cmplete my rant: http://velonews.competitor.com/2013/01/news/will-lance-armstrong-help-clean-up-the-mess-hes-made-stay-tuned_271934
and: http://greglemond.com/blog/doping-and-those-we-love/ Velonews article bit long, and I have been of a mind that the company was blatently un-jounalistic in it's coverage of Liestrong, but excellent article. Greg Lemond needs no introduction.

Who sponsors the big stage race in California? Amgen. What drug do they manufacture, yep you guessed it EPO.  :noid

I just wonder why single out Lance and why now? It's not like the rest of the riders are a bunch on angels. PEDs have been in the sport since it's inception.

If a rider comes clean with out being caught (Dave miller for example) then they will get some forgiveness from me as a cyclist . But if they think that they can run people out of a sport like lance did while giving false statements under oath , vehemently deny evidence showing that they may have been doping  then they can expect no forgiveness , no understanding  and no respect from me .   The whole interview showed him as the self centred arse he is .

The US justice dept had him and Drs and management under 2 yr investigation which they dropped unexpectedly last Feb on a friday before Super Bowl. No reason given, but w/election coming in Nov it's thought order came from on high so as to not stir big mess up. That's when USADA took over.If you read their report they implicate/suspended(some pending hearings) not just him, but management/Drs of team. Also implicated governing body, the holy of holies, UCI(governing body that runs controls/tests), saying they aided him. It was in there intrest(read $$$$) for hero to win & look clean doing it.
Alot of his prime competitors suddenly had positive tests when they came close to being threats, and were suspended. When a test of his came up 'suspicious'(wth that means?) he got a call from UCI asking him and team manager to meet with head chemist. He denies meeting, chemist says it happened. No one is saying what exactly went on in meeting.
That is what took so long. They've also moved against Doctors involved and team manager. The UCI involvement is very big issue, and USADA is moving in that direction, slowly but steadly. US justice dept has never totally closed case, and just refused his lawyers offer of $5 million. They may go after him and all involved(who knows how many or how high up) for fraud, return of $35 million USPS paid to fuel team TIMES 3, oh yeah...and JAIL.
Oh yeah...Amgan just paid big fine, too.

Everybody made a lot of money from Lance Armstrong. With that said, everyone should be happy.

Greg Lemond is the person that deserves restitution! He lost sponsorship money that was rightfully his.

Nobody deserves anything except Greg!

LOL...What a mess!
