I think this is a case of poor cv driving being mistaken for sabotage.
Words of wisdom.
AH is full of people resorting to the knee-jerk "SPY! SHADE! CHEAT!" cry everytime something goes wrong or simply just doesn't go the way THEY want it.
Last week: "Lancs just sunk our CV. Nice shade work, he never could have known the CV was there, but went directly to it". Full agreemant by many on country channel.
Turned out that the CV was offshore of a remote airbase, but had shelled the town for a long time down to white flag status. But when I mentioned this, the reply was "But how could they ever notice? It wasn't even flashing!" The population still agreed on that the enemy could only have noticed this by using spies.
Or even more on topic:
CV battle. Several players on board, me in 8". We manage to sink the enemy CV and CA. As it happens, we are now quite close to the remant of the enemy fleet and going on a collision course. Bad idea, so I grab control and turn the CV away.
And what happened then?
Hell broke lose on range and country text "SPY!" "Traitor!" "Shade!". Draggon was freaking out and accusing me of all things... and the best of all, a big number of players agreed with him because they all knew that "this is how high ranked players play". That I was merely trying to keep CV alive by keeping it away from enemy 5" guns and PT boats for the next 10 minutes didn't matter at all.
Frustrated I gave up command. Of course they steered it back and CV was sunk by destroyer fire at 5k. Guess who was made responsible for that?
