Engine fires maybe, but I don't think any WW2 aircraft had fire suppression systems in the fuel tanks.
Noob Statement to follow..... Wouldn't starving the fire of oxygen through a steep nose dive or cutting the engine (and/or flow of fuel), BE a fire suppression technique? I get that we don't have an "Engine 2 fire extinguisher button"...
I dunno, not really bothered either way... I just thought it would be exciting to land a sortie that included an engine fire...ACHIEVEMENT!... I hate feeling helpless and telling my crew to bail, especially when I have ords and gunner ammo left....
