I installed on my netgear router. it seems to connect faster. but not only that, I found on the netgear firmware if the router lost power then upon rebooting it would broadcast wifi on an open network. this was annoying as I wouldnt notice if the power went out when I was not at home. I turned the power off/on on the router with the dd-wrt firmware and wifi stays secured.
I just did the firmware last night so I am still trying to figure out all the settings. but my tv that is on the next room does connect twice as fast. one word of advise, make sure you remember the password when you flash the firmware that will remove the original firmware and install a basic firmware or you will spend a couple of hours trying to figure out what is wrong. once you enter the password then you will be able to access and install the new dd-wrt firmware. and make sure you get the correct firmware or you will need to get another router :0.
