How about some new planes in the WW1 arena?

Don't know if anything will change.  I came to AH because of the WWI arena...mostly in the late war now, in a tank.  Long way from cloth and wires to heavy metal.  Still go in if there are 8 or more people flying WWI...and it's still fun.  If they added anything, it would have to be competitive with that plane set...thinking Spad 7 or Spad 13.  Probably won't happen, but it would be fun.  For folks who have not been in there recently, DR's no longer rule...pilots pretty well spread across the plane set.

Not sure why the haters come out whenever there is a WWI post, diversity is important.  Some of us who are very happy in AH, still prefer WWI planes - though the opportunity is pretty limited.  The group may be small, but generally they are a lot of fun.

So...Spad 7 or Spad 13.  It may be naive, but you can always hope.  Until then, heavy metal is good....

10 people in WWI is a lot of fun.  It's more fun than furball lake for a quick fight or two.  I'd like to see a Spad or a Neuport added (or both).

With the current plane set ( Dr1, F1 Camel, F2b, and D.VII ) a Spad 7, Spad XIII, or SE5a would fit right in.
We could see some Boom and Zoomers flying through the fur-ball. The SE5a would really match up well with the F2b because of the upward firing Lewis gun. That would be a hoot. The Spad 7 only had one gun and it would also compliment the F2b. The Spad XIII being the fastest plane of this group would have the Run-Stang role in WWI.

HTC has limited resources.  Not participating in the WWI arena does not mean the decision to add a Spad XIII or such would have no effect.  If a J2M3 could be added or the Spad XIII could be added, I will pick the J2M3 by orders of magnitude.

 Some new planes would be great. But to get more people in the arena there needs to be more. More of a strategical objective than furballing.   Some tanks moving at 3-5 mph. Bombers. I don't think there has been a MMO that has produced the Gotha or HP yet.
 The arena is fun but it can be better.

Those too, but as multi-seat aircraft they weren't as direct a comparison to the Spad XIII.

Like currently, how do you cap fields? How do you effect the supply routes, strats or convoys?

WWI just needs some TLC to get the numbers up. The first month was fantastic.  I still go in there.
Couple planes and Rangers Terrains will get it going again.


My choices:

Spad 13


Future planes
Gotha G.V bomber
Handley Page bomber

The two bombers could use the same FM.


 



Just a wish. I like the LWA allot, but I have always liked WWI the most.
