<<SALUTE>> to Army of Muppets & JG11
« on: March 01, 2013, 11:53:44 PM »
Wanted to pass along a big  :salute to the Army of Muppets for OUTSTANDING escort.

You guys were well disciplined and tactically proficient.  We are currently reviewing film for our AAR purposes right now and looking back at the film, you guys were RIGHT exactly where you needed to be (where we needed for you to be).  We took minimum losses and destroyed V42.  And you got us out and home.  As we were nearing V28 or V12 (can't remember) we had P39s engage us in the front.

As we were getting engaged, POOF!!!  JG11 magically appeared and pushed them away from us immediately.  I felt safe as a swaddled baby in her mother's arms.  Between Army of Muppets to target, over target, and egress, then JG11 showing up and scrubbing off the bad monkeys, we made it back home.

:salute to both squads and TY for your efforts in Frame 1.  That rocked!!!

I got hit when I was in my sights.  Then when my lead plane jumped into a drone, my speed went from a perfectly calibrated 168 to a rapidly climbing drop speed of 182 (ish).  I tried to correct it but made it worse due to lack of time to get it fixed.  Literally had 3 seconds before my first bomb should have dropped.  I rarely miss, even with MANUAL bombing settings.

Just glad to have landed.  Embarrassed that I hit only the ground with bombs.  Nothing was afixed to the parts of the ground where my bombs exploded...

This sounds like a FAIR fight, for you, INK.  :)

This was my first FSO frame in level bombers, so I wasn't sure how much I was going to enjoy it, but I had a blast.  Then again, the slow ingress meant I got to drink a bit more than usual, so when enemy fighters showed up, there was less pucker-factor and more "wee, I just shot a Yak off my tail!"  Maybe I've discovered how you bomber guys do it?!

Was a fun frame and seemed like lots of action for all.

For those of us playing this game for well over a decade, Aces High is more of a social club. The game just provides the framework. I keep logging in for the people and Pipz was the kind that you keep coming to meet again.

This was a crazy frame, we had steady combat starting 15 mins into the frame and continuing almost to the end.  I honestly tried to rtb 3 different times at the end of the frame and didn't because of enemy engaging us at 125.  So I ran out of gas about 5 miles from home airfield at 18.
