Renewing Account...

I just put $20 on a CC and when I went to renew my AH account it gave me 'Could not authorize Credit Card'  Would this have anything to do with the fact that when it says 'your balance is negative, renew it to prevent termination of service' or whatever your account it actually negative? So I would need more than $15 to renew my account? Or has something just gone screwy ?

(By the  'your balance is negative, renew it to prevent termination of service' thing I mean the little window that pops up when you log in like a week before your account gets locked)

Have you used the card for anything besides Aces High? In some cases, like refueling at gas stations, they put a block on the card above the estimated purchase. Usually, it only lasts a few hours but it can sometimes last over a week.  For example, you may fill up with $30 of gas but they keep another $20-$40 on retainer until the transaction is completely processed.

If you do have a block, it will remain in effect and show a negative balance until it is released.
