Socializing Game system
« on: April 12, 2013, 04:17:14 PM »
- I wish the game would collect location information from the users computer and display other players within say, 20 miles? Along with a sort of buddy/friend system.

I imagine your heart is in the right place, but no way in Hades do I want personal information shared with total strangers.
If a person asks, then I have the option to tell them or not...but at least I know where to start looking if something happens.

Well it would be HTC providing the links to other players...

How much do you trust em?

You could also show the person's fav ride as well.

*knock knock knock*

(Arlo opens door)

"Do you play Aces High?"

"Um, yeah."

"Were you on last night about 10 p.m. or so, flying a Corsair?"

"Er, um .... yeah."

"Remember shooting down a C-47?"

"Well, actually ... yeah."

"Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. You shot down my goon. Prepare to die."

We already have too much socializing going on in the text buffer.

Torquila I suggest you go back and read the user agreement again.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Well, we can opt into it? Doesn't have to be forced....

Based on the replies I have seen, I don't think you guys are reading the idea right, I guess I assume you guys know that exposing personal information directly is a-given no-no and thus needs no re-iteration...

My apologies.

It would only show like a nickname and fav ride, not specific details... Like I said, HTC would do the matchmaking/linking.

HTC could potentially open themselves up to lawsuits if they made private information available like that to other users or even in violation of consumer protection laws in this country and in others.

If you want to know if people in your area play, just ask. You could start by adding your "location" to your BBS info..... unless you have a problem with giving out private information  :noid

Dont be a dooshe again fugi.

Like I said, you are all reading this idea wrong, apparently for your own amusement.

It makes sense how new players tend to dislike this community.
