Oh, I forgot to mention, he and our County Attorney are the toughest on DUI's. If you get DUI in Maricopa County, you get to spend a week in our Tent City, regardless of the weather you'll be there, 120 or 20 degrees. On your second, you get to spend a month...YOU DON'T WANT A THIRD. You can also stay free of charge for other offenses against the people of Maricopa County.

Another honorary guest, but much happier to be there:

If you behave you get to leave:

I hope you enjoyed the slide show.

Oh I forgot to mention, all TV is C-Span or Disney channel, and in December they get to hear Christmas music all day long.
"430k served time"
doesn't seem like it's very effective

He doesn't make the laws, just enforces them. But when you are under his supervision, his deputies will be there to make sure you are watched.

Living like animals? He doesn't subject the inmates to any elements that our soldiers are not being subjected to (actually it's hotter in Iraq and colder in Afghanistan) except the shackles and cuffs during detainment, processing and transport. Maybe you'd like to tell the families of the victims of DUI's that these inmates aren't being treated fairly, I'm sure they'll agree.

430K served time doesn't seem like its working? How is jail supposed to work? It's not rehab, it is punitive.

They're casting their bait over there, see?

What is the point of punishment if it's not supposed to make people think twice before breaking the law?
Pretty sure it's not supposed to just be about circlejerking over degrading people

The people in service joined up . They knew what they were signing up for so don't give me that .
EDIT: Pluss , what are they doing with all the fine money if they have that many people going through the system  Must be putting it in his pocket or they could build a new jail with all that money .

Committing crimes against society isn't signing up for punishment???

$$$ LOL, AZ has been broke throughout the majority of the recession, and again, Sheriff Joe has many enemies in power outside of this county, specifically the AG. Criminal probes directed at him during his tenure have been often and regular. If there were anything to be found, trust me, they would find it and shout it from every pulpit possible. "Putting it in his pocket," lmao.

You guys defending criminals now are too funny. Heard it from NBC yesterday, 1/3 of all fatalities on our roadways involve alcohol...There is a saying around here, only (mostly) ppl who have served time hate Sheriff Joe. Was Bubba once your bunkie?
