Placed under the 63rd FS section but in fact containing pilots from all three squadrons. (See enlargement for details). Despite the upper fuselage invasion stripes having been removed from the P-47, which would roughly date the photo as July 44; Charles Tucker was killed on 22 June 1944 in a mid-air collision with Mark Moseley. Tucker was flying 42-75282 LM-J_. The photo must therefore have been taken either on or shortly before 22 June.
