Not really the most dominate name in F1, I believe that would be Ferrari, but definitely one of the most iconic. It should be good for F1 for Honda to get back into the scene.

I am not sure I am gonna like the switch to a V-6 configuration. We shall see.

Good to have Honda back though.

1.6 liter turbo engines pushing several hundreds of HP will be interesting to see. Just because every ricer on the planet will try to repeat that in their cars :)

As long as they keep the no refuel rules that will be the limit to the engines!

I remember back in the turbo days and you had to manage the boost to control your fuel usage, otherwise they could run well over a 1000 hp in a 1.5 liter....  That's impressive.

I'd like to see F1 go to a anything goes but you get x amount of fuel to finish the race. Also the engine would only need to last for race weekend, none of this pansy gotta last x amount of races. Back when they used qualifying engines, that lasted maybe a dozen laps, qualifying was exciting to watch, today not so much.

Used to be F1 was the pinnacle of auto technology, these days it's all about aero and fluid dynamics. Sure with drag reduction and kers we see more passing but there's other ways to encourage that.

Will be nice to see Honda back, now all we need is for someone at Porsche to wake up!

Ahh the good old days, this tandem has a great history in F1.  Senna, in my opinion best F1 driver ever and if it rained he was a man among boys.

I'm surprised they could get Prost, and Senna that close to each other long enough to get a picture. It was their on track battles that really got me into F1 racing.

yeah...

I could've said "one of the most dominant names" when you combine 2 entities.  McLaren-Honda, and right now... Red Bull-Renault.

    :rofl :rofl :rofl

The body language on Senna just screams " who's that other guy!"  Some great rivalries back then, again today it just doesn't seem the same. Well maybe Vettle and his teammate have something going but with Bernie having his hand in everything we don't get to see or hear much about those things......  And then there's crazy season...

I haven't missed a race since oh around 84,Jacques died on my birthday that year!  Watched it unfold on TV live, havent missed a race since. One day I hope to make the Montreal race, seen all the other formats just never been to an F1 race but it's on the bucket list!

LOL yeah I'm surprised Senna isn't trying to stand in front of Prost.

I think you mean Gill, Jacques is still around somewhere.

I've always wanted to go to Spa, but I may have to settle for Austin. Before you Texans jump all over me Austin just doesn't have the history Spa does. Monaco would be great to attend as well. More for the experience than the racing itself. From what I understand you really can't see that much of the race in Monaco. It's also very expensive so that would have to be after I hit the powerball.

Indeed, but no one could come close to the V10/V12 in the MP4/4-6B.   Williams finally solved the conundrums with the FW14 and forced change.    However, being able to see that John Player Special and Yellow Helmet in 1985, at the Detroit Grand Prix was amazing.   The only driver I could put near him, would be Fangio.   Both of them rode the fringe of skill, aggression and lunacy.

Ya had a real brain fart there!   :furious  I did indeed mean Gills, infact I was never a fan of Jacques who I thought was a spoiled brat riding Daddies coattail. If he did have the ride with Williams at the time he would have been another also ran, anyone remember Unser or Speed.... :rofl

The best thing that could happen to F1 is for Bernie to pass away, not that I wish that on anyone but his grip on the series is overbearing and IMHO he's turned it from a racing series to an old boys club.

Oh and when Senna drove I was a Piquet fan, well really a BMW turbo fan that Nelson happened to drive!

Be nice to have Honda back.

On a side note, I just finished watching the snoozefest of a Monaco GP.....  I've been pretty on the fence about the whole Pirrelli tires debate until now, but this "race" tipped it for me massively.  It was just a parade as all the top drivers cruised around to a target lap time 3 seconds or more slower then they could be going, bunching up the whole field, leading to some dangerous incidents... RIDICUOLOUS!  I want to see racing, i want to see drivers taking the max possible out of the car, not this "whoever conserves the tires best wins" BS

Why is it so difficult to find the happy medium between the last forever Bridgestones of 2010 and the disintegrating "fall off the cliff" if you push at all Pirrellis of today?

Near the end of his BBC commentary during the race Coulthard nailed it, he said he might get in trouble for saying it but "This is rubbish!" and I think a lot of fans will wholeheartedly agree with DC on this one.
