Combat Trim will greatly influence the effect of the dive flaps, or so I've heard or read.

Not just the dive flaps but also the regular flaps.

I started last night turning it off.

Still wish we had a sound for the dive flap.

Yes and for the same reason. CT, as it is generally trying to compensate to "neutral", will tend to negate to some extent what your flaps are trying to do. At slower speeds it tends to give a slight pitch up and you end up fighting the nose back down giving you the bouncy bounce.

What I need to do then is cut off CT and leave it off to work it back into my skills.  I have the button function setup on the cougar panel and the elevator trim is there as well.  I just got lazy.  I appreciate the advice from you all.
