Helpful Unix-style terminal features for the radio console

Would it be possible to incorporate two amazing Unix-style terminal features for the radio console? I'm thinking that it would be incredible to have both a typed message backlog, wherein one can hit the up arrow and scroll through the things they've typed in the past to reuse them, as well as tab-completion for the .dt field objects and names for .s and .p. Please?

they'd need to put a timer on up arrow, or it would be spam central.
