Take care, I'm in CO for work right now and it is indeed very bad here.

Black Forest is 100%. Most areas back open to residents. East Spanish peak fire is getting bigger and Walsenburg is on pre-evac. West fork complex went from 30,000 to 50,000 acres in 24hours.
Colorado Springs has smoke everywhere from the West Fork fire. I can hardly see Butts field from my house and can't see any of the Springs.
The town of South Fork might be saved according to latest news reports. All fires with the exception of Black Forest are lightning strikes. Black Forest fire is being called human caused.

Update to the West Fork fire. 60,000 acres. Slowed on its way to South Fork but now Creede is under the gun.

GHI ^^^this to answer your questions and no I did not take pics. I live about 100+ miles away from that fire but only 20 miles from the Black Forest fire which killed 2 people and burned 511 homes

short but shows the Black Forest fire

They are just letting it burn through the fuel. Trying to save towns or infrastructure while it goes. Pretty much the same thing happened before we had wild land fire fighters.

This was taken from the ISS a week ago. The fires are in SE Colorado and we were driving thru smoke in NE New Mexico.

That West Fork smoke parked itself over Colorado Springs for three days last week.
You should roll through the Springs and holler on chan 23 I might pick you up on the old Galaxy.

It was a quick trip to fish in Silverthorne. Good thing we didn't chose Pagosa Springs. We're looking for a couple of lots/small acreage in the mountains for a cabin or RV.
Next time I'll give you a shout. I've got a Galaxy w/Texas Star 667. Longest DX I've made is to Tazmania. :devil
