« on: July 14, 2013, 12:00:04 PM »
i have been ill for a long time and been playing from bed.i got better and wanted a game chair.
i looked at playseats flight chair cool but to expensive it is also just a chair.i bought a viper 600Sr.  http://vipersr.com/products.php   . it is made of heavy duty aluminium the seat is heavy
duty also, a must as i weigh 245#s .but thats not all thats cool about it! it has built in
surround sound and subwoofer and vibration. i can feel the bullets hit ,the landing gear go up
and the wheels contacting the runway.i simply placed joystick where steering wheel is shown
added a mouse pad,put rudder peddles where gas n brake peddles are shown.im telling
you i feel like im in a simulator its awsum.thought i would share.

The DreamFlyer™ is a cost effective military air cadet trainer and an excellent addition for flying clubs.
It enhances the user's otherwise normal enjoyment of using flight simulation software. The DreamFlyer™
delivers the most extraordinary experience at a price even a recreational pilot can afford.

The Dreamflyer™ is a personal virtual-reality flight motion simulator designed to enhance the flight simulation
experience. The pilot-lead and pilot-induced roll and pitch oscillation is interpreted by the brain to perceive the feeling of flight.

Using their existing flight simulation software flight enthusiasts can enhance their simulation experience for any purpose, whether
it's virtual competitions, instrumentation practice or solo flights.

The Dreamflyer™ is now available with helicopter controls for $4999. The regular Dreamflyer™ costs $2999. (Jeebus ke-ryst!)

I think if you have a welder, or a friend with a welder you could build that frame for $40.00 USD worth of tubing or square stock.  Then go on Ebay, www.Jegs.com, www.summitracing.com and pick yourself up a nice automobile seat and done.

I highly recommend the Obutto... base system is very affordable and highly customizable. You can even go crazy with it like I did:

wow some of those look nice.  :rock  but i had $300, i couldnt build one myself for that much.i didnt buy the monitor mount as mine is bigger than mount would hold
went with swing arm from radio shack.can put it 1 foot away right over joystick.if you could build one for under $300 with suround sound, subwoofer and
vibration.that will hold a :old: fat guy  i would like to see it.

 I like OP's style...wtg.
I have 2 BMW sport seats w/all adjustments(inc racks) awaiting my finishing other projects(ac in 87 325I, respring 325IS, Datsun 240/260..blah blah blah). Thought a plywood box/2 small wheels at one end, painted black handles on other, narrow enough to go thru exter door(onto back porch when it's nice out), have dedicated comp and flat screens(2 side ones would swing out on arms), built in sound/woofer..and on seat bottom these 'thumpers' that don't make sound just 'thump'....all wired together...even some 'shippingquilts' in olive or black on inside as I've seen on military planes..ahh well... I can dream.
