What is the exact number a species needs to survive?

They have left traces.

The "hide their dead" theory doesn't hold water.

"Prank and tease"= warn and try to drive off, there's plenty of those encounters. No, there is not overwhelming amounts of evidence but there is enough for it to be possible for them to exist. The enhanced Patterson film makes a hell of a case itself. I understand where you are coming from but I honestly believe they will be proven real.

the exact number?  I dont have a clue.  It would probably depend on the animal. A good guess would be the number they use when they deckare something endangered.  Given that there are 'sightings' all over the place I would think there should be 100s around.

The hide their dead was sarcasm. Shouldn't there be some bones somewhere?

  New show came out.

  http://america.discovery.com/tv-shows/mountain-monsters/mountain-monsters-video/mountain-monsters.htm

Ok a little silly but the stories about the Big Black Cat are intriguing. Takes place mostly in W. Va. but the Lizard Demon is a little hard to believe.

My bad. Still look up Bill Munns. Here is a link. I like the way your mind works bro. Skeptical but not closed. http://woodape.org/index.php/news/news/48-news/230

Watched all three films. The second film on the paterson break down was great. I saw a 3 frame enlarged section of the breast area 3 years ago and the guy was going over the very noticeable bounce when it took a step. Until that moment I honestly thought that film was a fake. Thank you for sharing that link.

I saw the full episode about the large black cat. Although they acted very concerned and their reactions appeared to be authentic. I have to wonder about about the three piglets that were killed. They filmed two that they found. If it happened the way they portrayed it as happening, how does a single cat carry off three 60 lb pigs at once? They gave very brief looks at the carcases of the pigs. I would think they would document the heck out of the bite areas. It looks like a entertainment, staged show to me.

If someone would run across a skull sooner than later I round be a happy camper.  :D

If I understood correctly fossils of Gigantopithecus are few and limited to teeth and jawbones.

yeah, but bf is alive now so we should not be looking for fossils.  If they dont bury their dead, some animal would drag a bone out sooner or latter. Forget how many should be alive. There should be 1000s of dead ones laying around.

Is it possible that all of our collective consciousness focused on a Bigfoot like creature could manifest itself into a real animal? Could Bigfoot literally be a product of our cumulative imagination?

Get high and think about that...

Walk in the woods and find a bone. Hike for 6 hours three days in a row and tell me how many bones you found. I have found a few deer bones {individual} and a few small animal bones. The only whole skeleton I've ever found was that raccoon, right paw extended pointing towards the trap.

I may not find any in 6 hours. But 1000s of hunters, campers, loggers .... etc being out there every day for lets say 50 years or so is a different story than the 6 hours you gave me.

K...I knew the BBS had a wide range of users but...this thread just opened it up some more.

I've been places where I've never seen a deer but found plenty of sign. There's no way a giant hairy ape is going to hide it's turds that easily.
