Just a bit worried that the Russians/Allies have NO bomber for this map,I know the Russians had A20s etc on lend lease,couldnt we have the B26 to fill in? with the Germans having the Ju88 the Russians are gonna get murdered every night!,added to that the distances between targets and bases,it aint gonna be much fun sitting in a slow deathtrap like the IL2 on a long trip where youll end up raped by 109s! I think everyones gonna go Luftwaffe on this one!

Substitute a B26 for a A20? Hehe, thats almost as funny as the Typhoons that subsituted for Beaufighters in the Afrika Korps scenario.

If I remember correctly, the Typhoons got wiped out in AK.

They ran out of gas is all Rip. 202s got crdeit fer killin some but it was because then were outa gas.

I think that got assigned escort duty at some point during the event.

I know we couldn't catch umm in g2s..........

ya said you thought everyone would be going luftwobble/axis for this campaign. maybe... which leads me to a thought (and i already know it'll be poo-poo'ed, laughed at, mocked, so on...): why don't we all pledge to swear our devotion to one side, allies or axis, regardless of plane match up?

eh, just a thought...everyone else gets to post lame ideas on the message board, so i thought i'd post mine. hehe

A-20 was much faster than B-26 but the B-26 has about twice the internal bombload and defensive armament.

Mosquito is a closer match to A-20 than is the B-26. Comparing Mosquito FB Mk. VI with A-20G, Mosquito has smaller max bombload, less defensive armament, almost identical nose armament, and 20-35 mph better speed depending on altitude.

Check out the bombload the Hurricane IIC carries. If you want a little more speed...

Also the way the field ownership for the sides are going to be configured, and the victory objectives, the friendly and enemy fields are going to be very close. The combat will be focused on a smaller area. So you shouldn`t have to fly as far. An aircraft like the IL-2 with its capability of attacking both armour and objects will be very useful. 2 1000lb bombs, 4 132mm Rockets, (big rockets) and the 23mm cannon is a potent combination.

Finally, the B-26 will be added for the second week of play. But give the IL-2 and Hurricane a shot... You might have some fun.
