For the record, 30K sorties for the B-24s are extremely rare in AH as well. You know, I hunt buffs up there a lot, in Ta 152H and Me 163, and usually the end of the flagpole is at 27k max for the B-24. I remember only on or two missions where I encountered 24's above that in the past months. Quite different from B-17s and 29s which I do actually find to fly up to about 32k (17, though it's not the norm even at the strats) and above (29).
Fair enough... I should amend that to add there USED to be a ton more B-24s flying than B-17s. There was a time when some 60% or more of my kills every tour were B-24s. It was surprising to look at my kill stats and for months on end notice bombers were my most numerous targets.
That kind of changed at some point when they did several LWA "adjustments" and then eventually split the arena up. It changed how many people wanted to run bombers (by themselves, that is, not just upping a mission with a fleet of them). After that point bombers were no longer my most numerous target for lack of them to hunt!
It did rebound a bit from a major slump, but bomber use never quite returned to the level it used to be. IMO, of course.
