September 1942 the first unit to receave the C 205 was 1st Stormo then the 4th, the 51st, 3rd and the 310th photo recon unit.

On the eve of the invasition of Sicily:

4th stormo's with it's 48 202's and 205V's of 9th and 10th Gruppie at Catania and Gerbini. On the mainland ( aprox. 60 ftrs) were 3rd and 51st stormo controling 22nd,160th, and 24th Gruppie equiped with 202's, and 205v's Re 2001's and Re 2005's.

Also of note were the units equiped with the me 109G's in Italian service, aprox. 40 were in Sicaly. In addation to these units various bomber and ground attack and divebomber units and ftr units dispersed in sardiana , Calabria, Puglia, and Campania.

Quiet a few served with the ANR as well after the aramasest, equiping whole units, since the factories were in the North new production machinies were used.
