Does anyone here remember an old game called Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe? So far as I know, except for a few poorly modeled versions for MS Flight Simulators, no one has a good working Dornier Do 335.

(Image removed from quote.)

Has this ever been talked about on here as a good potential perk plane for high altitude interceptor missions?

Just curious because I loved flying this thing way back when I had SWOTL.

Ugly, Ugly plane.

I don't remember this aircraft in SWOTL.....

It was on the expansion disk along with the He162,  P-38 Lightning and the P-80 Shooting Star.

Ok what if, why stop at the Arrow.....

My dad was consulted for the Horten in SWOTL. I had no idea until I saw an old copy at his house and asked if he flew it on his PC and he said no, he just helped them model it. He said I could have it but it wasn't very good, so I passed.

I would really like to see it modeled by HTC even though Horten's idea of the bell shaped lift profile, negative lift at the wingtips, never worked as intended to eliminate adverse yaw. Too bad it doesn't fit the criteria for inclusion.

For those of us old enough to remember a time where the closest we'd get to flying WW2 fighters was the models we built, SWOTL, Aces over Europe and Aces over the Pacific were great fun.

AotP is STILL the best (offline) WWII sim ever. The immersion level just hasn't been matched since. Getting to fly USN, USMC, USAAF, IJN or IJA; multiple campaigns for all of them; the huge plane set; the use of the historical awards, ranks and decorations; the ace pilot wingmen and adversaries; etc. They just did EVERYTHING right.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.
