Anyone running one of the new 27inch monitors at 2560x1400? If so how's it look?

You have to see with your own eyes. It's just a 27" monitor with a big resolution. Been running one for around 2 years now on my work desktop.

It is 2560x1440.  Most of the decent IPS monitors have been using that resolution for a long time.

My home monitor is an NEC IPS panel.  I think I have had it nearly a year.  It is like looking through a window.

I run an HP ZR30w (30 inch IPS) at 2560x1600.  My tweaked 6970 runs AH with all eye candy turned up at 60FPS, and it's pretty sweet.  This is a nice system, but it was by no means top-end even in 2010, when I got it.  No reason not to get something similar nowadays.

I was just searching this very thing this morning.  I'm running Asus 144hz 24" monitors, and they are one of the best 1080p >120hz monitors for all types of games, especially FPS type games.  I've been thinking about moving to a single 27" IPS panel, and wonder what everyone thinks of them so far as performance in Aces High.  Does AH support 1440p resolutions?  Does anyone using them mess with the RTC control/overdrive for pixel response etc?  What is the response like with the higher response times compared to a 1080p monitor like the ones I'm using now?  And lastly, how do other games perform and look with it?

I'm probably going to order one today just to try it out, I'm just unsure of which one to go with.  I'm thinking about one from Monoprice in the USA, http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=114&cp_id=11401&cs_id=1130704&p_id=10509&seq=1&format=2 .  Asus also makes a 27" 1440 IPS panel, but it's 2x as much at 850$.  I'm not too worried about the price, I just want one that works well for gaming.  I'm happy to accept recommendations regarding other ones if anyone has used or seen something similar.

Do modern IPS panels still have a problem with ghosting in games?

I have a non IPS display and I really hate the inaccurate colors (for example, it is completely incapable of making a true red), but back when I bought this one the general idea was that IPS would cause ghosting in rapid games.  (Imagine my disappointment when I noticed definite ghosting in the non-IPS panel I did get.)

I bought a Viewsonic 27" IPS recently and I am pleased.  The difference between it and the 24" ASUS I was using is night and day.  AH in this resolution is amazing.

My ZR30w has zero ghosting, not even the faintest trace.  The picture is so sharp I have to keep it extra clean or else I'll mistake dust specks on the screen for distant planes.

Viewsonic is the one I'm leaning towards.  Ammo, what resolution can you play AH at, can you push it right to 1440p?  If so, I'm ordering it today.  If anyone here knows players of AH that need a cheap upgrade monitor, I'll have 3 Asus 24" 144hz monitors for sale shortly, http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX44025 is the exact model, I paid around 900$ for all three, and will be willing to sell them each for 130$ including shipping should any AH players want one.

One other thing.  To run 1440 in AH you have to connect through the DVI port.  For whatever reason, it won't run 1440 through HDMI.

Thanks Ammo, and yes, I've read that about the HDMI connections, but I'm using other methods already, and in fact, most of the Korean IPS panels only come with the DVI port, just one, and that's it.

I found a highly rated Korean panel from Ebay that I saw in person yesterday, I can get it for 285$ delivered after tax duty and shipping.  It looks almost identical next to an Asus unit the shop had, this way I can get 3 of them and keep my 3 screen set up for the same $ as one single Viewsonic, it's just going to be a lot bigger and heavier now.  I've got the fastest video cards you can get right now, so I hope they'll be enough to drive 3 IPS screens that are so big.

I'll see how I like just the single Korean import before I get rid of my other 24" screens first though.
