Be careful when you ask this question.  I had the bad luck of being in a squad once with a guy who claimed to be a 91 year old hellcat pilot with 14 jap kills under his belt.  And the CO actually believed him.

And there are lot that just keep it in their squad(s) for personal reasons.

1984/85 cable dog 36 Charlie, combat life span 12 minutes

1985. Signal officer training school LAW rocket instructor,, stay on the right end and live forever

1985/90. Drone pilot ,, this job got me shot at, crashed into and eventually burned by jp4 ,, still a lot of fun!

82nd: 76 to 80 (Paratrooper, Inf 11B)

Got smart, i.e. tired of walking, became an Armor Officer . . .

2nd ACR (when it was a real Cav Regt! :) ): 83 to 86
5th ID (may it return some day): 86 to 90
Buried deep in the bowels of the bureaucracy at Ft. Leavenworth: 90 to 94
Kuwait: 94 to 95
Ft. Knox NGB command: 95 to 97
2nd ID Korea: 97 to 98
Ft. Irwin Operations Group: 98 to 00.

United States Marine Corps: 2010 to present.  Contract will be up in 2015 and it looks like I'll be going for a second shot at this.

I get to fly one of these:



Eventually, one of these since the Marine Corps is transitioning out of the RQ-7B

I'm an Infantryman in the US Army.

First duty station was Korea where I served as a Guard Sentry for the United Nations Honor Guard Company.

PCSed to FT Drum where I served in Apache Company 2-87 IN RGT. I served a 12 month tour in Kandahar Afghanistan with them.

Currently serve as in B Co 2-27 IN The Wolfhounds on Schofield Barracks Hawaii. I was in the process of getting a warrant officer packet complete(flight warrant) but I dislocated and fractured my patella last week and I can't pass a flight physical.


 Funny story, the only  person I've met from this community in person was Selino30 (also an infantryman) while in Afghanistan, we were both at the same FOB for refit(think he was there for puma training) we were both on Facebook and I mentioned arty being shot from the base...he said they were shooting at his too...I asked him what base he was out and boom...we are a few tents from each other. We linked up did some smoking and joking, well I was smoking. Would have been better to have some beers!!
