Stash a plane on a CV, plus repairs please!
« on: November 03, 2013, 01:08:01 PM »
SUMMARY:
Anything you land on a CV can be storred there for a later fight, AND IT GETS REPAIRED for any next flights. We can already 're-arm' so why not?

Game does not permit any Luftwaffe planes from upping from a CV, understandable, they didn't complete their CV, sigh. So historically no CVs for them.
But its not ONLY for them, THERE ARE LOTS OF PLANES that can't up from a CV, like a B-25 Mitchel, a Spit16, a p51, a p47, an La7... ETC ETC.
If your skills will land it on the CV, then you can store it there. And if you can take off, without breaking it, then you can up it too!

Example:
A neato paint, the 'BLUE' 109k4, I only up it if the fight is going to be over water. It's the 'JG5 by Truekill' paint.
1) I take off from a land-base...
2) I land on a specific CV, say CV 106 (so the one that goes with port P105).
3) GAME STORES IT THERE ON THAT SAME CV SO I CAN TAKE OFF IN IT LATER ON!!!
4) Hour later or so, when the CV finally reaches enemy territory... I can up my K4 (with the JG5 paint) from a CV!!!
5) I take off, fight, get damaged, I return to the CV, land, and it is stored again, and REPAIRED... so I could re-up it, repaired!

Max of one stored plane per player per CV?
Interesting aspect of it: players could stash a C-47 with troops?

How to implement? If log off all 'stored' planes are cancelled? What about we get booted? Plane stored until map reset?
Here's to the 'blue' k4, best paint in the game!
 :salute

That seems unreasonable to me. What would the navy know about fixing a B-25, where would they get the parts? Or for that matter where would they find the time to fix it while they fueled it up? Where should they store it?Fugetaboutit.

Well, they SEEM find 30mm taters for my k4 all the time...

By the way, the MOST hands down 'pimp' screenshot in this game is a k4 on the deck of a CV...

How to RE-ARM on a CV:
Oh and to players that don't know how... first LAND on the CV, then fully drop flaps, then just a TAD of throttle (which releases the parking-brake)... the plane can then back up, and taxi, in reverse. Back up to the black lines on the back side of the CV and it will RE-ARM your plane.

Oh, and if the CV gets sank, any saved plane are gone.

Yes, let me take off from a CV with the lightest bomb load, 12 mins of fuel and no pilot gun ammo. That's the only way to lift a B-25 off a CV. Yes, I've tested it.

Not if we had wind!  :neener:
An option to not take defensive guns could be an option, lighter than just firing off the amo... shouldn't bombers be able to throw the guns overboard anyways? With the last bullet goes the whole gun?

Adding, could we stash a plane at a Vehicle Base also? I'd park a stuka at each one! And re-arming please!

I just tested this with a B-25C with 100% fuel and 6 500lb bombload. I was able to take off from from the standard spawn position on the cv.

Somewhere around here there's films of batfink landing on and taking off from a CV with loaded Lancasters and with AR234's and I know other's have done it with B-25's.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Just give us the 109T. It saw combat and was intended to be flown off of a carrier.

All I want is a plane that was flown, saw service, and scored kills. True it never took off from the incomplete German aircraft carrier but it did exist. Most of the early model F4U's never took off from an aircraft carrier either.

On a side note if you want to be a jackass go do it somewhere else. I was being perfectly civil.  :)

I read in that article that some of the 109-E/N's were modeled to fly off carriers, unless I misread that.. would it be possible to have that be able to take off from a carrier?

Would be nice if possible.

Also. For the OP wish. No.  It would be abused, just like another wish that came up a few months back. For the ability to park your tank or land your plane ANYWHERE and be able to log back in at that same spot. It would just be abused, simple as that.

If we have something to show we will & do post shots, if we have nothing new to show we don't.
